How to Play Bingo in Las Vegas

Learn to play Las Vegas Bingo Games

A relatively easy to learn, the game of Bingo is popular, exciting, fun and played in a very friendly environment. At most Las Vegas casinos that offer live Bingo games, you are most likely going to find the conventional 75 ball bingo being played.

The conventional 75 ball bingo is played with bingo cards that have a grid of five horizontal rows and five vertical columns. The columns are lettered B I N G O from left to right across the top of the grid. Each bingo card has five numbers in each row except the center N column which has a "free space" at the intersection of the third row and the third column.

The Game:
Bingo balls individually numbered 1 - 75 are mixed together and the balls are randomly selected one at a time. As each ball is selected, the number is announced to the players, who dab or mark the corresponding number on their bingo card with a bingo ink marker/dabber.

Object of Bingo

The object of the game of Bingo is to cover the specific pattern of numbers before anyone else.

How to Play Bingo

Check the "buy-in" amount for the Bingo session you want to join. This is the minimum you'll have to pay to join the game.

Then buy as many Bingo sheets as you want to play. Or, if you prefer to play electronically, you’ll receive a PHD machine that has as many Bingo sheets as you’ve loaded onto it.

Your Bingo sheet will list 25 randomly generated numbers that range from 1 to 100.

At the beginning of each game or session, a predetermined playing pattern will be announced along with the available prize.

The game pattern can be as simple as having five numbers marked off on your game sheet horizontally, vertically, diagonally or it can be shaped to form a letter X, T or L. Pattern Bingo is also popular in 75-ball bingo games. This involves covering a previously specified arrangement such as a shape or design that was declared at the beginning of the game. In casino Bingo, "Coverall" or "Blackout" games are also popular to play. With these games the players must dab all 24 numbers on the bingo card in order to win the game.

One by one the caller will announce numbers at random based on what is dispensed from the mechanical or electronic number generator.

Simply mark the number on your sheet with your dauber! (If you’re playing on a PHD machine, the device will search your sheets for the number that has been called.)

When a player completes a predetermined arrangement of covered numbers on the bingo card, that player yells out "Bingo!" Once the bingo card is verified as being correct, he/she wins the game and the prize.

Note: The "free space" in the center of each bingo card is considered "wild" and is counted as already being covered. This free space can be used with other dabbed spaces to create other winning patterns.

Winning in Bingo

In classic Bingo, the first participant to cross out a line of 5 numbers horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins a part of the prize or, depending on the game, the whole prize!.

Depending on the Bingo variation, you might need to complete your sheet with a random pattern of numbers. This may be creating an “X” on the sheet or marking off the four corners of the sheet. (see sample patterns above)

You’ll need to call out “Bingo!” as soon as you have it. If you and another player reach Bingo at the same time, the prize is split evenly.

The Odds of winning in bingo
The likelihood of you winning depends on a number of factors, like what the rules of that specific game are and how many people are playing with you.

Strategies for playing Bingo

Casino Bingo is not a game of strategy and as you will find out, there isn’t much strategy to remember or apply. The hardest thing you will encounter while playing Bingo is simply listening to the person calling the numbers out and marking them off your card. There are however a few generally accepted tips for improving your odds of winning at casino bingo.

1 Choose a game that has fewer people in it. This will decrease the number of opposing game cards and increase the chance that you have the winning numbers called first.

2 Picking the right time of the day to play can also increase your odds. Weeknights are usually a little less crowded than a Friday or Saturday night. By playing with fewer people, you improve your likelihood of a win.

3 Most people increase their odds of winning by purchasing more than one Bingo sheet. Play as many cards as you can per game. The more sheets you play, the more your odds of winning increase. Just make sure you can effectively manage all your cards when the game is underway in order to avoid missing numbers. (this strategy is not recommended to newbies to the game of Bingo.)

4 One Bingo strategy a lot of people ovelook is simply listening to the person calling the numbers out and marking them off their card. Paying close attention to the caller will improve your odds.
